US absentee voting

Basic question on absentee voting for US expats.

My wife and I are moving to Italy this month from New York but won't be maintaining a US residence (beyond claiming our daughter's NY residence as our US mailing address). Presumably we can vote absentee in national elections, but what about state and local?
