NY'er calling other NY'ers for help to decide where to move to

Hi! I'm a Manhattanite looking to move to Italy. As NY'er we are used to lots of city stimulation. I'm not sure which place in Italy to move to. I don't want to pick a small sleepy town/city, I'm still very active. So far I've been to Rome (don't like it), Milan (I can consider), Venice (too many tourists). I'm just not sure what place to choose. Are there any NY'ers out there that can help me decide? Thank you!
