Hello! My husband and I will take a 6 month sabbatical in Italy starting in May moving around every 2 or so months.
1) I am an EU citizen but my husband is US citizen. Does he need a visa for a stay of 6 months?
2) We don't want a car all the time. Does it make sense to just rent when you need one? Is it better to lease month to month? Does Italy have something like zipcar? Also, do you need an international driver's license in Italy? How do you obtain the license?
3) How can you get a resident permit if you move month to month?
4) We will have cobra medical insurance? Do we need international insurance too?
5) Can you easily get distilled water throughout Italy?
6) We are packing light. Anything you wished you brought from home in hindsight?
