Spoleto ex-pats?

My wife and I will be traveling through Umbria this April, doing a little fact-finding as we search for a spot that we feel comfortable using as a "home base" for longer term stays. By longer term, I mean within the 90 day limit. I'm thinking Spoleto might be just the place. What's the expat situation there? Is there a community we could engage with as we acclimate to living in a country more than a week or two at a time?
