anything akin to a commuter train pass?

Hi everyone!

I will be spending 6 weeks this summer in a small town outside of Parma. It is a 20-minute train ride to Parma on Trenitalia. What I'm trying to find out is if I could get something like a commuter pass or something with discounted rides for multiple journeys. From what I have found so far, you have to be a resident for a certain type of Emilia-Romagna train discount, but maybe I am not understanding it. I own an apartment, but I am not a resident. I'll be with my mom and two children under 12.

Any thoughts on how I can avoid paying full fair back and forth for 6 weeks?

Thanks!
