First steps to moving to Italy

1. I have done quite a bit of internet research. There is certainly a lot to learn. But once we decide to "go for it" and make the move, where's the best place to start? With an immigration attorney? What's the best way to find an attorney with experience useful in our situation?

2. We would like to move to a small town in the south (under 20K population) to take advantage of the 7% national flat tax. What's the best way to find a real estate agent who can direct our search for a place to live (rental or purchase)?

3. We would like to connect with a group of expats from the US that can provide input to questions as they come up. Suggestions?

Thank you.
