When in need of a doctor

One of the big questions most new arrivals to Italy have is, what do I do if I have a non-emergency medical concern before one can find a doctor, particularly one who may speak English? Yesterday, my wife had an issue that I felt needed to be addressed by a doctor, but being new to Rapallo, we had no idea where or who to go to. While researching on the web to find doctors in the area, I came across Doctors In Italy: https://www.doctorsinitaly.com.
It seemed like a great idea, so we had nothing to lose by trying it. She entered her symptoms and other information on their online form, plus the appointment time and date she desired. Then, it is distributed to doctors who use the service. Within 15 minutes, we had 5 doctors, each with a bio and reviews, willing to do an online consultation at the desired time and their price, which varied from doctor to doctor. Within less than an hour of filling out the information form, she had an online consultation with a highly trained doctor who diagnosed her concern and prescribed the appropriate medicine....all for €35. The doctor then sent a follow-up message with additional information. Plus, we have up to 7 days to communicate with the doctor. I have no affiliation with this company, but to say it is an excellent resource for expats or travelers would be an understatement. https://www.doctorsinitaly.com
