SF Consulate Appointment

I finally got an appt for my ERV at the Italian Consulate in San Francisco (in Feb)!! Can anyone tell me what to expect? What happens at the appointment? Naturally, I will bring everything required plus glowing letters from my Sicilian neighbors (we have owned a house there since 2022). I am applying and my husband is not - while he is retired (I'm using his pension & our joint taxes for the income requirement), he has family obligations that require him to stay in the States, at least for now. Would it help to bring him to the appointment? Is he allowed to join me? We need to travel from Idaho to SF so I need to plan ahead sooner than later. Any information or advice you can provide will be greatly appreciated! Grazie mille!
