Hi all, I have an opportunity with a new job in Jamaica for 2 years and would like to discuss with anyone about the general security and accommodation and general living situation on the Island. What are the dos and dont when travelling, and going out at night? My girlfriend will also be coming with me and we have heard that women in general have to be very careful when travelling (especially at night). Where would be good location to be based? The offices of my potential employer are based in Kingston and I would like to know where I could be based that would be secure, comfortable, but also easy to commute to Kingston. Also, what is the property like in the surrounding areas? What would one be able to rent for around US $1500 per month? Would you also recommend a secure accommodation development? We want to live peacefully but we dont want to feel like we are under guard 24/7 as we want to be part of the island and appreciate it if you know what I mean. Also, this may sound like a crazy question, maybe the ladies on this site can help here, but what are the medical facilities like when it comes to things like contraception (female pill) as my girlfriend has to take certain type? Look forward to your assistance.
