My Jamaican father and white British mother are resident in St Elizabeth but I am planning on moving to Lucea to live with my Jamaican boyfriend by the end of the year. What are the steps I need to take to make this happen as smoothly as possible? I will be in JA for two weeks at end of April and again for six weeks in the summer. Is there anything I can get done to start the process? When is best time to apply for residency? I know I can get citizenship by rules of descent, should I apply before I leave UK? I will not be seeking employment as I will help my boyfriend in his business. I am considering in investing in a rental property in JA - good idea/ bad idea? Thanks in anticipation of your help.
