Joining Life Partner when not married

Hello All,
my life partner is planning to go to Jamaica for work. I want to join him but we are not married ('only" living together for 4 years) and we are also not intending to get married. I do understand that I will have to join and stay as a tourist and get out of the country at the latest every 90 days. I am planning to do that but my question is: Has someone had experience with this before/was in a similar situation? How long do I have to be out of Jamaica then until going back? Is for example one week sufficient so that I can get back without problems then? I would be very thankful for feedback, comments etc. Many thanks, Diana
