Moving to Fukuoka

Hi There,
I will be moving to Fukuoka, Kyushu somewhere in May-June and I was wondering if somebody could give me information about the city and life there. I.e. which part of the city would be best to find housing in, are there activities or clubs to join, how's the transport/commuting. Car or bus, tennis or tai chi etc.... All info would be much appreciated!
