Solar Power

We are buying a house in Toyohira-ku area about two blocks from the national park. I want to install solar panels to help with the cost of electric. Is this possible and what companies do people suggest. I am also a very handyman kind of person and enjoy taking on projects are the house. I wish to start up a business in the area of Sapporo as a contractor to assist other expats who have dificulty with the language barrier. Is this something difficult to do or not as I will be there on a spouse visa?
