Living in Jordan

Hello all,
I had a few questions and any general information you could provide would be appreciated.

I will be moving to Amman in early june for 1 year. I will be living in the Abdoun area. What all is there to do there? What is it like? Are there any parks? Nightlife?

I'm 31 and will be there by myself. Since i will be working only 5 days a week is there enough to keep me busy in jordan for 1 year, like things to do, nightlife, festivals, sites to see, surrounding countries to visit, etc? I would hate to spend all of my off time couped up in my apartment being bored.

My apartment and all utilities, cable, internet and phone are all paid for by my employer.I will also have a vehicle for my personal use. Is around 1400 JOD a month enough to live on comfortably and enjoy myself? I'm not into eating at expensive or posh restaurants or anything like that.

I'm bringing my dog over also, are there any areas i can go jogging or hiking with her? How would i be perceived walking around with a dog?

Are there any border fee's you have to pay to cross into/from israel or syria?

Any just any other general information that you think would be helpful or useful to know.
