Mizuka Youth Reform Community Awareness Event

Hi all,

I'd like to share with you what I've been experiencing in working with the Mizuka Youth Reform group on Kibera Road in Kibera. On Saturday the 13th of November, 2010 the members of the Mizuka Youth Reform will be hosting a family cookout and community showcase of the work they have accomplished over the past few years.

I'd like to personally invite you to come see the amazing work and commitment to change these men have made. They are actively selling rabbits, roaster chickens, eggs, water, shower, and growing vegis. They have a strong soccer team competing in many Nairobi leagues, are providing for student members and providing role models for the community.

This is also my personal invitation to come say goodbye as I will be leaving Kenya on the 14th. Though I'm leaving far richer than I arrived and beyond Samasource have started working with a number of organizations and have made numerous friends through my work here. I'd like to see you all personally to say thank you for helping to enrich my life. I plan to return and will continue the work I've started while here.

Agenda for the day provided by Mizuka Youth Reform

11:00 am - Introduction - Opening remarks by Chairman Anthony, the District Commissioner and other community members.
11:30 am - Begin program - Tours of Kibera, Mizuka Youth Reform and meeting the members of MYR as they tell you their stories (suggestion of 1,000Ksh donation for a dignified tour of Kibera)
12:30 pm - Lunch served - Come enjoy a traditional Nyama Choma lunch (350Ksh)
1:00 pm - Culmination of tours
1:30 pm - Exhibition Football match

- Come see the best youth league in Nairobi play a game to showcase their excellent skills. (free for all)
