Student junior year in Korea

My grandson is going to Bussan, Korea for his high school junior abroad in Korea.
He is studying Korean with the aide of the Rosette Stone language course. I'm sure that will not prepare him adequately to understand the teachers or anyone else initially. However, he is in the top of his HS class so I assume he will learn Korean fast when he is there. I'm looking for any advice people can provide for students in terms of Korean culture and lifestyle so he is more prepared when he gets there next month. Thanks in advance.
