My husband has been offered a position in Kuwait, actually in Ahmadi. I have read a ton of information regarding Kuwait City but very little about surrounding communities. Could someone please tell me what the housing is like in Ahmadi? How far is Ahmadi from Kuwait City? I know from looking at maps that its very close but is it like a suburb or is there empty open space between the two cities? Just tring to get a picture in my head. Is Ahmadi a safe area to live in? Does anyone know what the housing is like? The oil company my husband will be working for is offering a $1445 US monthly housing allowance. Is that enough to get something really nice? We are middle aged (young middle aged..haha), empty nesters and have spoiled ourselves in Houston, TX by living in very nice upscale housing. I don't know what their housing allowance will rent in Kuwait but I have two main concerns in my living arrangements......safe area and moving into something that is VERY clean. :-) OK, now my OCD is starting to show so I'll hush.
Any information would be wonderful. I have some other questions that I haven't seen addressed on the forum but will wait to see if this one gets posted. I typed out a looooong email last night and it never posted. :-(
