Please help

Good morning everyone. I am joining this forum asking for some help regarding information about my situation and my wishes. I hope I could find someone with a similiar experience so I would like to start describing what happens.

I have studied my master in Germany for 3 years (21015-2018) (I am mexican) so I had a german student visa that just expired end of september 2018. I always wanted to get the german citizenship and for that you need to live in Germany for 8 consecutive years and not living abroad for more than 6 months. So I am now working in Luxembourg (I have a temporal resident permit) and my contract is for 4 years. Now I want to live in Trier (Germany) to not lose my antiquity or history in Germany and be able to apply for the citizenship in 5 more years. My question is; is it possible for me to apply for a visa in Germany that allows me to have my residence there as a non EU resident and just work in Luxembourg (so commute every day) because in that case you tax for both countries. or I can only apply for the arbeitssuche visa (18 months resident permit) that Germany lets me because I have a german diploma? I have been in Lux for 2 days only but I need to hurry in the process in case there is still hope for me. I will appreciate any comment or experience regarding this matter. Thank you very much.
