Leaving Malaysia without cancelling work visa or going through tax cleare

Hello,

I would like to resign from my current job and move back home for various reasons. I intend to give my employers as much notice as possible (much more than is required, 6 months actually) to help make the transition as smooth as possible. However, if my employers decide to make things difficult, what will be the consequence of leaving without reaching an agreement with them, cancelling my work visa and not going through tax clearance etc?

My feeling is that it would just make things difficult if I wanted to come back in the future.

I should emphasise that this isn't my preferred exit strategy, but it seems prudent to explore all options.

If anyone has had any experience on this matter, it would be great to hear from you. Where possible please provide evidence such as links to gov websites, documents or other forums to back up any claims.

Many thanks.
