I can work remotely, but I need to make sure I am in a place with robust internet service. Are there any places known for NOT having good internet? I will make sure to avoid them.
I am looking into homeschool programs now, which is probably what I am going to do, but I am curious about school. It would be nice if my daughter could make friends with local neighbors. I know there's a Waldorf school in TJ and I think in Rosarito. I also saw a program called CALP in Ensenada. Does anyone have nay suggestions for school? She's currently in fifth grade.
Additionally, my daughter plays volleyball, tennis and swims and receives instruction twice a week for all three activities. I really want her to continue doing this. I was thinking it might be good to move to one of the communities that has tennis courts and pro shops, etc., because there might be coaches I could engage. Anyway, to make a short story a little longer, I would love recommendations for tennis coaches, swim programs and volleyball programs.
I want to stay close to San Diego, within an hour or so from the border. I'm thinking of Rosarito or Ensenada or Tijuana or any surrounding areas. My daughter's father is an artist and we would like to live in an open, artistic community if at all possible, but I'm wavering between something like that (like Mision Viejo) and something like a resort community that is gated and offers tennis courts and community pools, etc.
I'd also like to know about health insurance and other logistics I wouldn't even think of to know to ask. Do I have to get a Visa for us right away, or is it OK that we stay for a while with just our passports?
