Hola! I am looking to purchase a small piece of property with a home for a very modest price. I've bicycled all over the Yucatan for the past 20 yrs. and find it uniquely different than mainland Mx. with it's diverse geography, wildlife, ancient history and generally peaceful nature. I'm currently eyeing a small home and lot in Izamal ($25,000 usd) but am open to other locations and deals in that price range if anyone reading this knows of any. Prices keep going up every year and if I don't act on something soon, it's obvious that I'll be priced out of the market. My wife will never move full-time anywhere in Mexico so I'm looking for a peaceful retreat in the $25,000. price range that we can visit a couple of months out of the year. Minor upgrades (paint, tile, toilet fixtures, etc) are okay but no major overhauls. Thanks!
