Living in 2 countries

My condo is paid off and rent controlled. The rent is $400 plus utilities. I was thinking 5 months in Mexico City and a month back in Houston. Repeat. Are there advantages and/or disadvantages to this arrangement. I believe, on the whole, that this could be a money saver while living in Mexico City. Thx, Randy
