Home Purchase

I intend to buy a home in Puerto Penasco, Sonora. My question regards Visa limitations. I'm still waiting for an appt at the Mexican Consulate in Denver. I'm concerned that I won't acquire my Temp Visa before I wish to bid or close on a house down there. Can I purchase a home just with my Tourist Visa? What are the limitations?
