New member - hello!

Am curious as to the best method for exploring areas we're considering retiring to. We have visited the places that interest us and will visit Guadalajara next year most likely, but living in a place is different from being a tourist. How do we go about learning about the best places to live, house and apartment prices in different areas, cultural amenities, etc.? Should we meet with a real estate agent or one or the relocation specialists offered by Mariana Lange of Mexico Relocation Guide or ...? Mexico City is the other place we'll be particularly interested in having someone show us around, to see if we can find neighborhoods that are nice but more affordable than La Condesa (which we love) or Roma.
