I have an odd question about phone numbers and how to use them in Mexico.
Having done research I see a lot of places discussing a system of dialing prefixes (01/02/044/045 etc.) and this seems complex.
I've also seen suggestions that this system went away a couple of years ago, but I can't find definitive proof. I was wondering if someone could fill me in on the current state of phone numbers and dialing in Mexico today.
To avoid getting bad information, I was wondering if someone with first hand knowledge could answer a couple of question:
1. Do you still *need* to use 044 / 045 when calling mobile numbers for example, or do those numbers no longer work?
2. Has the whole country moved over yet, or is this being done a bit at a time?
3. Do you have a link to a document or news site that describes the new system?
