Guanajuato

Hi. My wife, myself and our cats are considering a move somewhere in the state of Guanajuato in late 2026. We would LOVE a "relatively quieter" colonia but where there is a walkable downtown or at least close enough to be able to walk or the a short taxi to/from the markets. We are visiting San Miguel de Allende in May of this year. We both have conversational Spanish ability and have considered more immersion and perhaps NOT living so near a large expat community (no offense intended). Has anyone lived in Guanajuato city, Bernal or other areas nearby - maybe even just outside Queretaro? All feedback and comments are most welcome!! Thanks! David Rubincam
