Ive recently made the decision to leave the US for a while and Im trying to gauge what living in Morocco would be like. Im particularly interested in the cost of living. Im thinking of heading out there for a year or so and would like to know how far 30k-40k would go. Im not necessarily planning on working while there, nor am I especially interested in simply partying all the time. So I guess Im trying to live in midway between the western and local lifestyle.
From what Ive read Casablanca seems relatively expensive, but what of Tangier, Rabat, or Marrakech? Im okay with the idea of getting a part time job teaching English or something, if necessary. How competitive is the expat job pool?
