Trip to Morocco/safety issues?

Hi,
Our neighbours (US citizens) are planning a trip to Morocco in January. They seem rather concerned about personal safety issues. I never heard of any major problem in MOrocco. It's not Somalia, or Iran or something like that where US citizens could be targets.
Right? Any comments here would be appreciated.
