Overseas Housing

I am interested in moving permanently to Europe, expecially to France or Spain, where in each case, I have some familiarity with the language.

Of the many considerations I know are involved, my primary one is affordable housing or, more nearly correct, housing which I can afford. Most sites on the internet give only tourist or vacation information on housing.

I am 63 years old, single, and retired on social security benefits. The monthly amount is modest but dependable.

My needs are simple, and I need no elaborate housing. I would willingly live in the city or countryside-whatever is necessary.

Can someone please advise me whether or not this is at all feasible. Thank you for any help.
