Transport

We've bought a few second hand cars. Some were terrific, others well, the required MOT for any cars over 3 years, that's a killer most of the time.

However, I recommend AUTOTRADER UK. They have some great deals in cars, camper vans & motorhomes as well as mopeds and motorcycles.

The taxis locally are very reasonable and always, in my experience, very clean with nice drivers.

Finally, the bus services are the best. There is one I take regularly with daughter. It takes us to 4 cities and villages.

Scotsrail is top notch and the InterCity coaches are inexpensive and get you to multiple places.

Just be aware that any travel between Scotland and London is at least 7 hours.

I've not used the Glasgow metro yet, so can't say. Same goes for the London one since the July 2000 something explosion.

Hoping this helps... Oh and you can have bus passes, trains ones as well for a reasonable monthly or yearly fee...
