Sponsorship Questions

Hello everyone,

My girlfriend (Canadian) and I (American) are both here in New Zealand on Working Holiday Visa's. Our visa's are up in September and we are trying to figure out our next step. We've been having trouble getting clear answers from the NZ immigration website so wondering if you guys could help.

What sort of options do we have in terms of getting sponsorship? If we found a company that would sponsor one of us, what is the process/eligibility to get a visa beyond our working holiday? Does it have to be in a specific field, my girlfriend is a writer and I work in financial services. Also, if one of us gets a sponsorship does that automatically qualify the other (we've been living together for the past 3 years, in a relationship for longer). Sorry it's a lot of questions, but we aren't really sure where else to turn besides an immigration lawyer. We want to know if this is even a possibility before going that far.

Thanks for reading.

Cheers,
