I recently married a non resident Englishman in England and it was so simple and straightforward.
Initially we had planned to marry here in Norway but it just proved to be a bureaucratic nightmare. As a non resident my now husband was required to provide piles of paperwork and certified copies.
We had to give notice of our intention to marry in England in any case and the English Registry office pointed out that it would be simpler and much quicker to marry in Britain.
All I had to do was to have proof of residence in England for 7 days (a letter from a neighbour or friend), my passport and certified and translated divorce papers (free from Fylkesmann). Following an interview and notice period of two weeks we were free to marry!
We recommend this stressfree route.
