criminal conviction evidence confusion for uk spouse visa

hi everyone!
my husband is a British citizen and I'm going to apply for uk spouse visa but there is a little confusion that i want to clear; i have read https://www.gov.uk/uk-family-visa/provide-information in this link that i need to provide the information regarding criminal conviction. Fortunately i don't have any criminal record. still i need to provide the police clearance report to the home office?
if anyone has applied for the same cetagory and granted the visa so kindly give me the suggestions and share ur experiences and advice :)
