THINGS TO THINK ABOUT WHILE HERE

When you move to another country of course there will be changes, new things, food, smells, and weather that you may or may not be use to.

we all went fishing last week, it looked like rain and I wasn't to happy about fishing in it but, even a bad day of fishing is better then nothing. Well once we hit the lake it was all sunshine, to much really, there were clouds of course but none seemed to block the sun at all.

next day I woke to find my face pealing and my bottom lip twice the norm.
lesson for the day, sun block. Don't come down here and hit the beach all day without it, even a cloudy day you will get a burn which could ruin the rest of your time here.

I have seen many toursit come up to el valle for the day after being on the beach and they are cooked.

Another thing I had to start doing down here that I had never even thought about doing back home was to shake out my shoes after they sat over night, yes even in the house.

This lesson was replanted into my mind this fine mourning when my wife said look at this, she handed me a glass jar with a little black scorpion inside. Where was this found? In our bathroom she said. I had a laugh later on while thinking that most people freak out about a moth flying in their home, and here my wife is picking up a scorpion.

He or she is sitting on my desk as I write this, it is a wonderful but maybe deadly little guy. The stinger on this thing is huge compared to the rest of it's body, it might be a inch and a half long. With 8 legs and then the long front pinches this guy could go just about anywhere it wanted to, and today I guess it needed to use my bathroom.

so I now shake my shoes out and check my bed before jumping right in.

Look where your walking and where your placing your hands.

down here you might or might not see bugs that blend so well on a tree or plant until you touch it. There are fire ants down here, I have many piles of them here and there on my acres here, trust me you don't want to stop and find out your standing on a nest.

The other day my yard man was cutting a huge field I have. my two year old was walking with me in the uncut part. I ALWAYS make sure I walk in front of her, because of course I would rather find the danger then her, and sure enough in the grass just ahead something moved. I picked her up right away and kept a eye on where this guy was heading, while I called my yardman over to point it out to him, he walked over and looked at it, walked over to a tree, took a small limb off and smacked it in the head.

I asked bad? yes very. little snake but deadly.

Either one of these guys if hit me wouldn't really kill me, but on a two year old might.

so just watch where your walking and touching.

be sure to shake out everything you take off and lay on the floor or on the beach, a hand bag is a cool spot for a scorpion to get out of the sun for a while.

I also want to post this is not a huge problem here, but they are here and we must learn to live with them and to take just a little time to make sure we don't come into contact with these guys, it could ruin your trip.

I for one will be turning on the bathroom light from now on, and making sure I don't make my wife mad at me,, who knows how many more of these things she might have!!!
