More crime at the beaches

I feel very strongly that people in general need to be made aware that crime in what is known as the beaches area ,San Carlos,to Gorgona have been experiencing a large increase in crime that is now turning violent.Last night a restaurant in San Carlos was robbed at gun point. This is the same spot a Canadian couple were robbed at gun point in their new home and beaten while one of the thieves spoke to someone by phone who seemed to know where certain items were in the house.
This latest robbery is a now a step up both in organization and violence.Five men entered the restaurant at about 9:30 pm armed with a gun and machetes and demanded everyone get on the floor ,tied them all up, proceeded to rob everyone of jewelry, money, phones, credit cards, keys and cash. One of the thieves was in constant communication with someone outside perhaps down the road watching for anyone approaching. The point of my note is people in general in the beach communities need to know that this is now happening frequently and the police do not seem to be doing much. The cook in this restaurant was stabbed and bleeding heavily and when police arrived they had to be asked to call this poor man an ambulance.Be aware at all times and do not leave your house doors open at any time as this gang have now robbed numerous homes at gun point in the middle of the day. This news needs to get out there so pressure can be put on the authorities to stop all this from happening and people thinking of moving to Panama need to know it is not as safe as alot of these expat sites want you to believe. Now this particular gang of thieves have step over the line and committed a stabbing in front of 14 other people they will not stop. They need to be stopped and soon.Tell your friends or people considering the beaches as an area to retire to to consider security before making any final decisions.Realtors and international sites praising Panama will not be telling you all the facts about the high crime rate here right now. They only want to sell you something and dont care about your security.Be careful in making decisions and if you are in Panama be very careful where you go even to eat.
Trust no one you dont know personally.Do not give out your home address or phone number to strangers.
Again be very careful out there. These robberies will continue until somehow these thieves are caught by someone.
