Panama Earthquake Monday

Did anyone feel that earthquake Monday morning around quarter to five AM Monday May 27th in Boquete? I was dreaming of Niagara Falls, or maybe it was Angel Falls. The bed was shaking and moving around like we were floating down the rapids heading to a waterfall. It stopped just before the cascada. Panama James

For those who were not here or slept through the quake this morning in Boquete....The time was 445 local time.I was surprised by the noise fist, then the shake. I am never sure where these are going, but I was outside before it was over, which was pretty quick. After two months of working construction here it seemed prudent at the time...Don t know where the center was or if it did damage elsewhere, no problems here. So it is early coffee this am...Have a great day. Peter

Earth quake felt early this am aprox 4:42. No idea magnitude or scale, duration about 8-12 seconds. Different than others as this was more of a circular movement rather than back and forth. Jim McDaniel Rio Sereno - Panama/Costa Rica border

Yes, according to the USGS, it was reported near the Costa Rica / Panama border at 4:41:14 am. It was 7.021 Miles deep and Magnitude 5.6 . Lat – 9.8373, Long - -82.6475Looks to be about 10 or so kilometers WSW of Changuinoloa or 20-30 WNW of Bocas Del Toro. Your Bocas people should have felt that one… Hope all is well… Michael

Did anyone else feel an earthquake in El Valle about 4:37 this morning? It lasted only about 10 seconds was rolling and made the chandelier above my bed sway slightly. Stephanie

It jerked us awake with the house rocking. No damage to the house but we are located on an island in the Laguna de Chiriqui.... I'm sure it was a lot stronger in Changuinola. Cat

Woke us at 4:42am in David, near the El Rey supermarket. Seemed to rock and roll for about 15 seconds, much different than the one-second JOLT of an earthquake that occurred here half a day earlier.
