More brutal robberies in San Carlos

Yet again there has been a brutal robbery at the same hotel in San Carlos and a number of people were beaten, pistol wiped, tied up and robbed at gun point. For the record it took the local police over an hour to arrive at the scene...again never ever depend on the police in Panama for anything other than ridiculous tickets on the highway. This area of San Carlos is now an area gringos are major targets. There were five armed men this time and they took everything they could carry.Stay out of San Carlos as I now while on the highway lock my doors when I drive through there.
Do not go there for any reason as it is a very dangerous area.Tell your friends do not go there. These gangs will only escalate in their violent nature. The police have not even started to investigate the last serious armed robbery there as they simply don't care.It seems very odd they always take so long to attend such a vicious crime with so many people involved.Perhaps their attentions are directed elsewhere during these robberies. The local gringo groups such as block watch are at the end of the road trying to get the so called police to do anything and when the police finally attend they don't bring an ambulance or ask anyone if they require medical help.
The gringo public at large are on their own when it comes to crime so get yourselves organized if you are going to continue to live in this crime ridden country where no one cares. The other alarming fact is this gang all had guns so sooner or later they will resort to extreme violence and take a life.Anyone who can kick tied up people brutally will resort to whatever it takes.Apparently they laughed through out the ordeal they put these innocent people through.
Be careful out there. No area should be considered safe here anymore.
