Immigrating to Panama

Hey all! I'm looking for some details that I can't seem to find anywhere. I'm having to be 100% certain of my move, as I'm a US expat in AU, so when I leave here it's a one-way trip.

My primary concern is getting through immigration. I've seen that US citizens get 180 days visa, and I plan on applying for the Friendly Nations Visa when I get there, bringing all the paperwork with me. However, I'm shipping my personal effects and flying my two cats, who will arrive on a separate flight from me and at this point after I've arrived.

What I need to be certain of is that I won't get turned away at Immigration. I can show financial solvency and can certainly say I'll purchase a bus ticket or whatever to Costa Rica if that's necessary. AU has become much more fierce to immigrate to and so this may be making me a little more paranoid. I've inherited property in Boquete, so know where I'm going but owning this property I don't think will help me with Immigration.

Any help will be much appreciated. This is a huge decision as you all well know, so I need to make sure I haven't missed something.

Thanks in advance!
Holly
