Panama’s tourist season if fast approaching

If you are planning a trip to Panama then its best to plan ahead as the height of tourist season is fast approaching. This means that there will be a lot more travelers transiting Panamas main airport located in Panama City.

From Panama City you have two options by air if you plan on visiting Chiriqui, the first is Copa Airlines that fly’s out of Tucumen and the other is Air Panama that fly’s out of Albrook air field.

Each has different schedules so if one doesn’t line up with your agenda then the other probably will.
Rental cars are available at the David airport as well as several locations through the City of David.

This time of year rental properties become competitive so it’s best to coordinate well in advance with prospective rentals properties in the location you plan to visit.

Most rental properties are geared for longer term occupation rather than short weeks or days. Some request a one year commitment and others month to month or 90 day minimum commitments per Panama laws so plan accordingly.

As a US and Canadian citizen you may stay in Panama for up to 180 calendar day on a tourist visa and can operate a rental vehicle for up to 90 days on your North American drives licenses.

The most popular tourist destination is Chiriqui and Bocas Del Toro followed by Coronado.

Boquete is a busy tourist destination this time of year so locating a suitable rental unit can be challenging so plan ahead.

It’s not recommended to offer any money for a security deposit for rental properties in advance until you are actually on the ground and can personally view the properties.

If you like fishing there are several fishing resorts that offers personalized and daily fishing expeditions and cabin rentals located in Puerto Armuelles.

If you are looking for a rental apartment outside of the greater Boquete area there is a cozy one bedroom unit available starting November 1st about 20 minutes drive from Boquete central and about the same distance to David.
