Boquete - medical/grocery prices

We visited Boquete in August 2024. We loved it there, however the two things that were a bit of surprise 1) Grocery prices at a local supermarket for many items is significantly higher than what you would pay in the US.

2) Being in my 60,s access to specialize medical (if needed) would require a trip to David-which is about a 45 minute drive which to me does not align with the life style that I hope to achieve. We are looking for a walkable community, but at the very least medical in close proximity. I hear there is a Dr Gomez in Boquete who I hear is very good.

Does anyone have thoughts on either of these topics?
