6 month stay in manila

I am going to manila/taguig city area in january 2009. I am trying to get some kind of job over there that will get me enough money to live there, most likely uncomfortable. If anyone could provide me with assistance in my endeavor, it would be appreciated. I am from America and have not got a degree. I am doing this adventure to see if this is the lifestyle for me. I am not rich.
