Living in Angeles

RobJ this is for you since you just asked about it but I'm sure many others will benefit from the topic. I wrote about this a few months ago. I know it's hard to look everything up in the forum so I'll reiterate a few details. It's very hard to have a successful marriage living in the Angeles area. If your wife/girlfriend is from the entertainment industry she'll be influenced from people she knows or will become friends with within the industry. If she is not from that industry she will feel extremely insecure because of the thousand or girls in the area that you can't be avoided. Even the most faithful naïve guy can't help but turn around sometime or look out of the corner of their eye. There may not be any intent other than admiring something nice to look at but women in general (Filipinas for sure) get jealous easily. If she is younger and attractive someone eventually will be hitting on her because in that area a lot of tourist think everything is game. You definitely can't bring her into a bar. Either they will think she is available or she is a mamasan. If you want to bar hop, play in a pool league (there is a different league almost everyday of the week) or play in the dart league, it's great if you are single. Although there are a lot of friends and things that attract back to Angeles, at this point in my life a happy marriage is more important. My wife will never go along with living there nor would I want to do while being married. There are certainly many expats that have a successful marriage living in the Angeles/Barrio Barreta/Subic areas it's just an easy task to put on a marriage. You need a wife who is very understanding and a guy who knows his drinking limits. One of the ways these marriages/relationships work throughout the country is if the guy puts something substantial in the girls name. Then she becomes secure because she can leave you whenever she wants or if you leave her for someone younger and prettier she still has something substantial.
