process for duel citizenship

Most posts i have read have to do with Filipino spouse regaining ciizenship however none address the issue of US citizen, married to Filpino seeking dual citizenship in order to own property. Of course the wife can own but the husband is prohibited and as I understand it taxes could result in both countries over income. Since i have no interest in owning a condo would like to expore this option as a pr will qualify. Should anyone versed on subject or undergone same issue please advise.
