I have said it before and i will say it again philippines is not paradise, its a harsh 3rd world country. I cant comment on those that come here with good money and good income, live in select expensive areas. But to live here on a basic pension can be tough. Life is cheap here make no mistake. Upset a filipino hit one, you could be in a life and death situation. Most of the people are lovely kind and helpful but there are those that will rob you blind. Happens everywhere? Yes it does but here moreso get oolice involved? They also think you are rich. Hospitals in the beautiful provinces are not up to scratch most of the time ambulances if any are scarce and under equipped. Armed gaurds outside and inside banks, shipping malls, McDonalds even, bars on every window of houses got to telk you something. I love it here for many reasons but my eyes are wide open to the dangers and corruotion at every level.
