deed to a inherited house

My wife's parents has split up their property and recently gave each of their kids a bundle of papers. (deed and plot map) My question is, what does she do with the deed and papers now, if anything? We will use this house as ours when we relocate there in a couple of years, and sometime later, maybe sell it. And yes, as the husband, I know that I'm not any part of it, unlike here in the states. We will vacation there this coming February. Thanks for any information. Merry Christmas!
