Is general santos safe for a white American? My fiancée is from south cotabato. She said that I probably won't like the area to much where she is from but that it's safe. She said general santos would be much better for us to spend time in.

She said that she would like me to go with her to south cotabato a few times to meet her family though. Are these areas safe for me to be in?
