Scamming

Standupguy,
You are right, there are many westerners that are also scamming or trying to scam others. It doesn't matter if it's someone trying to sell 20 people 10% interest each in a bar or business or any other ingenious idea they can come up with. Scammers are out there. The truth be told it's probably at least 100 or 1000 to 1 of Filipino's trying to scam foreigners for anything from taxi's to immigration to police checkpoints or girlfriends family and relatives. Just like we have said many times the Philippines is not for the naïve expat. To be able to truly enjoy life in the Philippines you must be an experienced traveler with eyes in the front and back of your head. I'm sorry everyone but the truth is, do not give anyone 100% trust anywhere, especially in the Philippines until they have proven themselves to be trust worthy. In all my years in the Philippines there are very few people (expats or Filipinos) that I'd trust 100%.
