House for rent in Subdivision

Hi all. I've been boots on the ground here for several months (Subic Bay, Angeles City, Tagaytay...etc etc) looking for a nice house to rent inside a secure subdivision. I've read and heard many times that I shouldn't deal with Real Estate agents. Here's what I can't figure out. all secure subdivisions will not let me in without an agent or an appointment. Many subdivisions have agents sitting right outside and the internet is not much help because ads may not be current. Any ideal how I can actually get a good deal on a house inside a nice subdivision WITHOUT an agent?
I haven't even figured out how to get in without an agent yet!!
