Hi All
I am new to this forum and green as in all aspects of knowing what to do if I wanted to live in the Phillipines.
I visited 2 times and like it a lot but have no clue on which is the simplest and easiest route to take.
So....
I am a 50+ young Aussie and thinking of spending a few years in the Phillipines to see if I like to retire there in the end.
So lets assume that:
I have no pension but could organise a statement indicating monthly payments from a trust fund of lets say Au$1800
This money, would suffice for me to live there - on a budged.
My thoughts are:
If I where to Book a ticket from Australia to Manila and an onward ticket to say Singapore 3 month later, ( rebooking a ticket is expensive way IMHO so I am better off paying for the agency to extend my Visitors visas rather then reschedule flights etc.) so upon arrival in the Phillipines that would then let them (immigration) see I have an onward ticket-right?
Question1:
If I do the above and fly to Manila and stay on the 30 day free visa, extend for 2 month and then fly to Singapore on the original ticket after the maximum allowable tourist stay period, would that be legal and workable??
If so, I would then stay the weekend in Singapore and then return to Manila or wherever and start the same process again.
Is that at all possible?
The reason I am asking is that I have no idea if I actually could get a retirement Visa given I don't receive a "real" pension yet.
Question 2
Knowing I don't get a "real" pension, could I apply if I wanted for a retirement Visa , given I only receive monthly payments from a trust fund?
Note, I would have the required security deposit of $20K for such a visa.
Question3:
If I wanted to organise a retirement visa while visiting Manila what documents must I have before leaving Australia?
Any thoughts, ideas and or info would be very much appreciated
Thanks to all that reply.
