I'm glad to hear that there are many dog lovers on this forum. Surfer, BobV, Seernai, Standup, etc... Although most of you own dogs that are not necessarily pure breeds you should be aware that there is something called the Philippines Canine Club Inc. It's a registering body for pure breed dogs. They have dog show, exhibitions, etc all over the country. Affiliated clubs in most cities throughout the Philippines. There are more than 30 foreign judges throughout the world that come to the Philippines to judge dog shows every year. There are over 20,000 active members and over 1,000,000 registered dogs throughout the country. They are the counter part to the American Kennel Club, Canadian Kennel Club, Japanese Kennel, Club, The Kennel Club, FCI (Federation Cynologique Internationale). Yes, there are many people who don't properly take care of their dogs in the Philippines but there are atleast 20,000 plus upper middle class to very wealthy people whom love their dogs. Every well know rich person in the Philippines has a purebred registered dog for either themselves or their kids Purebred dogs in the Philippines sell for anywhere from 3,000 to 20,000 per puppy. Some imported dogs in the Philippines where bought from $10,000-$20,000 for dog shows and to used as studs.
